Three smaller steel beams would be tied in to the center of the frames to reach a load level of 100 pounds per square foot. If the cement floor is found to be less than 8 to 12 feet thick, then the columns will be placed on 5 x 5 foot poured support footings to be cut into the floor.

Carl moved to hire Marble Engineering at a price not to exceed $1,100 and have Ann execute the contract as soon as possible. Jeremy seconded. All in favor. The committee also discussed contacting the Rutland Regional Office of the Board of Fire Safety to find out who serves as Pittsfield ‘s Fire Marshall to determine the steps required to secure a permit. Ray also suggested that the committee reach out to Messier House and Construction Movers to determine if they could move the beams in.
