- Exterior Project Bids: The committee received two bids on the two exterior projects to remove exterior siding and trim in front/west side of building and replace with a cement board and plastic wood, build new steps according to architectural drawing, install water table around front and side and replace any damaged siding or trim on south side with wood and prepare and paint south side. Herb met with both contractors to review their bids so the committee could compare the bids apples to apples. Herb said before a decision could be made, available funding needed to be reviewed because Select Board members Joyce Stevens and AJ Ruben have asked Ann to notify the committee not to expect any more one-time federal funding. To date, the committee requested and received $57,178 of those funds plus spent $11,652 out of the Town Hall Reserve Fund to complete basement renovations so Town Hall can be used as an overnight shelter. There is approximately $2,646 in outstanding invoices (most for the new front door) and another estimated $7,500 needed to complete electric installation, install new wastewater pump and plumbing, trim windows, doors, baseboards, paint the floor and purchase barn doors for the storage area. The Reserve fund has a balance of $49,931 and the Begin Fund $10,661. The Committee discussed going with the lowest bid of $57,979 on the exterior project from Tom Van Epps dba Vt Home Improvement Specialists but downscaling the project by eliminating all work on the south side of the building to save funds for the basement work. Glenn moved that the exterior project be limited to just the front. Herb seconded. All in favor. Herb will get a new bid number from Tom.
